ABOUT THIS ROLE:

As HSE Officer, you will be responsible for data entry in HSE databases and retrieve reports as and when required. Your role is to implement the BCM HSE Management system, procedures to ensure HSE regulations and inspections are in compliance with site specific HSE policies. 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Health, Safety and Environment 

  • Partake in in the development of safe and healthy workplace.
  • Duty of care to ensure job tasks are carried out in safe and efficient manner

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage first-aid centres.
  • Assist site personnel with Incident and accident reporting and investigation
  • Assist in conducting Safety, Health and Environmental audit
  • To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization
  • Prepare and compile required HSE Report such as daily HSE Data submittals and monthly reports data where assigned
  • Ensure compliance of applicable HSE and other requirements such as the permit systems
  • Assist safety personnel in preparing safety manuals and guidelines
  • Maintaining records of accidents, injuries, and near misses to help prevent future incidents
  • Inspect work area premises for hazardous elements
  • Conduct Prestart and toolbox meetings
  • Conduct safety inductions and trainings
  • Any other duty assigned by the superior
  • Partake in the supply of PPE’s to staff and ensures appropriate 
  • Follow all health and safety regulations in the discharge of duties

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Site based.
  • Working hours is 6 days a week, 12hours per day, 06:00am to 06:00pm daily

TRAINING, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE CHECKLIST

  • Relevant qualifications or certificate in Occupational, Safety, Health and Environment is preferred   and any equivalent qualification in the field of HSE or Environmental Science
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience as an HSE Officer is preferred
  • Proven knowledge in the use of MS Office and safety regulations and auditing process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meet tights deadlines
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to solve problems logically
