Light Vehicle & Light Truck Drivers

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

BCM is recruiting an experienced Light Vehicle/Truck driver who will be responsible for transporting staff, visitors, and goods from one location to another (where assigned). You will be responsible for loading vehicle, abiding by traffic laws and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at their destination. 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out pre-start check before moving the vehicle/truck at the start of the shift
  • Reporting any defect in vehicle/truck to the planning office or supervisor
  • Drive in accordance with BCM and Client specific safety rules governing project site.
  • Ensuring proper housekeeping of trucks and vehicles.
  •  
  • Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient wat possible
  • Any other duty assigned by superior.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Site based.
  • Working hours is 6 days a week, 12hours per day, 06:00am to 06:00pm daily
  • Overtime rate shall be applied accordingly for hours in excess of 40 hours per week 

TRAINING, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE CHECKLIST

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a light vehicle/truck driver
  • Holder of basic School certificate or a higher is an added advantage
  • Proven experience working in the civils and Construction site
  • Drivers/operator’s license in good standing
  • No records of serious accidents for the past 5 years
  • Effective problem solving skills and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to safety rules
